Anti-Aging Hautpflege – Was wirklich wirkt (und was nicht)

Anti-aging skincare – what really works (and what doesn't)

Posted by Tim Evcioglu on

Protect the skin barrier and work deeply without feeling heavy.

Light emulsions, gel textures and evidence-based active ingredients work most reliably.

2. Active ingredients that have been proven to deliver results

✓ Retinol (Vitamin A1)

The gold standard in dermatology.
Increases cell renewal, boosts collagen synthesis, reduces lines and pigment spots.
Tip: Start with a low concentration (0.1%) and apply 2-3 times per week in the evening.

✓ Hyaluronic acid

It binds many times its weight in water.
Ideally, a mix of high and low molecule size is used – this hydrates the skin surface and plumps up the deeper layers.

✓ Peptides

Regenerative signaling molecules: support skin structure, improve firmness and skin texture.
They work particularly well in combination with retinol or vitamin C.

✓ Niacinamide (Vitamin B3)

Multifunctional:

  • refines pores

  • regulates oil production

  • reduces redness

  • strengthens the barrier
    Optimal: 4–10%.

✓ Panthenol & Allantoin

Soothe, repair, strengthen – perfect after shaving or when starting retinol.

✘ And you can save yourself the cost of these materials:

  • Gold flakes

  • snail slime

  • Stem cell extracts

  • “High-tech” claims without studies

It sounds fancy, but rarely works convincingly. You're better off using dermatologically proven active ingredients.

3. The ideal routine from age 30 – simple and effective

Consistency beats complexity. A good routine remains lean:

In the morning

  • Gentle, pH-balanced cleanser

  • Antioxidant serum (vitamin C or niacinamide)

  • Moisturizing cream (hyaluronic acid, squalane)

  • SPF 30+ – all year round

At evening

  • Thorough cleaning (especially after sports)

  • Retinol serum (2-3 times/week)

  • Night cream with peptides and panthenol

Optional

  • Enzyme peel 1-2 times/week

  • Eye cream with caffeine or peptides

4. Eye care – is it really worth it?

Yes.
The area around the eyes is:

  • up to 10x thinner

  • has hardly any sebaceous glands

  • loses moisture faster

A light, fragrance-free eye cream with caffeine, green tea or peptides visibly helps with puffiness and fine lines.
Important: Gently pat in, do not rub.

5. Anti-aging is about self-respect – not vanity.

Healthy, well-cared-for skin has an effect. Studies show that people with clear, even skin are perceived as more competent, vital, and present .
Grooming is not a luxury – it's a statement.
A signal to yourself: I am investing in my health and my appearance.

Conclusion: Routine wins – not the quantity of product.

The biggest mistake? Giving up too soon.
Stick with it consistently for 6-8 weeks and you will notice:

  • smoother skin

  • less drought

  • more stable skin barrier

  • Visibly fresher appearance

Aging is a part of life.
How you support your skin – that's your decision.
